Greetings
2010/11: Currently building a multi-tenant HBase/HDFS/Hadoop cluster application in Java which I was the lead architect/designer for.
2010/03: Yahoo and Microsoft have approval from the EU and US for working with Bing. Since I worked on the Content Systems' Crawler (and Indexer) my role will change with the transition. Since I work on cluster management, distributed computing, and monitoring, the future is fairly open. However, the scale I work with is clusters of thousands of computers and that limits me to larger projects. --thayer at b2si dot com.
